Former Clinton County Sheriff Mark Mitchell has announced he will seek a third term as Clinton County Sheriff. Mitchell, who was sheriff from 2003-2010, has elected to enter the 2018 Republican primary.
Mitchell joins Rich Kelly of the Indiana State Police as those running to replace current and two-term Sheriff Jeff Ward. The sheriff’s position is prohibited by law from serving a third consecutive term.
In addition to his two terms as sheriff, Mitchell served overseas in Afghanistan with police contractual services. His professional background includes 23 years with the Indiana State Police as well. As a current member of the Clinton County Council. He is also currently serving as the Mulberry Town Marshal.
