Community Events

The following is a list of community events going on in Frankfort and all of Clinton County:

 

VOLUNTEER MUSEUM WORK HOURS HAVE CHANGED AT THE CLINTON COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF OLD STONEY. THE FRANKFORT LIONS CLUB TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS IS HELPING PUT THE MUSEUM BACK TOGETHER AND WILL BE WORKING THROUGH THE SUMMER. HOURS ARE 1-5 P.M. (USED TO BE 1-9 P.M.) THURSDAYS AND 9 A.M. TO 1 P.M. SATURDAYS. GOOD PROGRESS IS BEING MADE, BUT VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED.

 

THURSDAY THUNDER  RUNS THROUGH SEPTEMBER ON THE FIRST AND THIRD THURSDAY OF THE MONTH. ON THE THIRD THURSDAY OF THE MONTH, FRANKFORT MAIN STREET WILL HAVE LIVE MUSIC ON THE SQUARE. THE MUSICIANS WILL BE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE COURTHOUSE.

 

THE FRANKFORT FARMERS MARKET IS HELD ON SATURDAY ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE SQUARE IN DOWNTOWN FRANKFORT. THE MARKET WILL BE OPEN FROM 8 A.M. TO NOON. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE INVOLVED AS A VENDOR, CALL JASON AT 765-654-5507.

 

THE CLINTON COUNTY YOUTH THEATRE WILL BE PERFORMING ‘INTO THE WOODS JR.’, WRITTEN BY JAMES LAPINE WITH MUSIC AND LYRICS BY STEPHEN SONDHEIM. PERFORMANCES WILL BE HELD FRIDAY, JUNE 23; AND SATURDAY, JUNE 24. THE EVENING SHOWS ARE AT 7 P.M. AND THE SATURDAY MATINEE SHOW WILL START AT 2 P.M. TICKETS ARE $8 FOR ADULTS AND $5 FOR CHILDREN. TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE CIRCULATION DESK.

 

THE NEXT SATURDAY NITE ALIVE WILL BE CELEBRATING INDEPENDENCE DAY ON SATURDAY, JULY 8, AT 5 P.M. AT PAUL PHILLIPPE RESOURCE CENTER. THIS EVENT IS FOR THOSE 40 AND OVER AND INDIVIDUALS ARE ASKED TO BRING A DISH AND A FRIEND. ADMISSION IS $1. FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT RICHELLE LUTZ AT 765-249-2981.

 

COACH KIDS WILL BE HAVING TWO SEPARATE EVENTS AT THIS YEAR’S HOT DOG FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY, JULY 29. A CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT WILL BE HELD WITH A 9 A.M. BRACKET REVEAL AND 9:30 A.M. START TIME. COST IS $20 PER PAIR AND THE EVENT IS DOUBLE ELIMINATION AND PLAY TO 21 OR OVER. THE RAIN OUT LOCATION IS ANTIOCH CHURCH AT 4656 SOUTH STATE ROAD 39. ALSO, COACH KIDS IS HAVING A BISCUITS AND GRAVY BREAKFAST FROM 8-10 A.M. FOR $5 EACH. AT THE MAIN TENT. TO REGISTER OR TO FIND OUT MORE, CALL 654-8812 OR LOOK THEM UP ON FACEBOOK.

 

THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF SPECIAL EVENTS GOING ON THIS SUMMER:JUNE 22-25 — KIRK’S CROSSING FESTIVAL IN KIRKLIN; JULY 8-15 — CLINTON COUNTY & 4-H FAIR AT CLINTON COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS; JULY 28-29 — HOT DOG FESTIVAL IN DOWNTOWN FRANKFORT; JULY 28-29 — INDIANA FAMILY STAR PARTY AT CAMP CULLOM; AUGUST 1 — NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AT TPA PARK, 6-8 P.M.; AUGUST 2 –STUFF THE BUS AT FRANKFORT WALMART, 5-7 P.M.; AUGUST 9 — BID & SAVE RADIO AUCTION ON WILO, 10 A.M.; SEPTEMBER 27 — WILO SENIOR FAIR AT COMMUNITY LIFE CENTER, 9 A.M. TO 2 P.M.
