Virginia L. (Long) Mundell, 96, of Frankfort, died at 9:49 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2017 at Homewood Health Care, Lebanon, Ind. Born April 17, 1921 in Frankfort to Ernest E. & Myrtle G. (Frazier) Long. She married Herbert Webb on September 21, 1941 and he was killed during WWII on November 20, 1941. She married Jacob M. Mundell on January 11, 1952, they divorced and he passed away in May of 2016. A graduate of Lakewood High School, Ohio in 1939, Virginia lived in Lakewood, Ohio from 1931-1939, before returning back to Frankfort. She worked for Indiana Bell from 1941-1983. Virginia was a member of the First Christian Church since 1943, and a member of Indiana Bell Telephone Pioneers, Gold Star Wives and Communication Workers of America.
Virginia is survived by 2 Sons: Craig A. Mundell of Frankfort, and Eric L. Mundell of Indianapolis, Daughter: Karren E. Kowalski of Larkspur, Colorado, 2 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Long
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at the First Christian Church with visiting one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.
