Former Executive Director of Lebanon Area Boys and Girls Club Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges

Leah A. Pickens, former Executive Director of the Lebanon Area Boys and Girls Club, was arrested on multiple felony charges after a five-month long investigation by investigators with the Lebanon Police Department.

Pickens was formally charged with the following charges by the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office: Four counts of Theft, level 6 Felony and Seven counts of Counterfeiting, level 6 Felony.

On November 13, 2017, the Lebanon Police Department was contacted by Lee Humphrey, the Board President for the Lebanon Area Boys and Girls Club regarding unauthorized purchases from the organization’s checking account, PayPal account, and Menards account. Humphrey believed there was approximately $130,000.00 in unauthorized purchases by Pickens.

During the investigation, investigators conducted multiple interviews and executed a search warrant on the Lebanon residence and vehicle owned by Pickens. During the search warrant, multiple items were recovered related to this investigation. The items recovered include, but are not limited to: Kenmore Elite 800 series vacuum sweeper, Makartt Nail Dryer, Michael Kors Purses (4), Standup US Cutter Vinyl Cutter, Luggage Rack, Steel Trailer Hitch Assembly, MasterBuilt Stand-alone Meat Smoker, Countertops, Kitchen Cabinets, Bathroom Cabinets, Dish Washer, and Storage Cabinet Organizer.

Through the course of the investigation, it was also discovered that Ms. Pickens had signed the name of the Board Presidents on checks that required two
signatures without their knowledge or permission. It was determined by investigators that approximately $37,967.25 in unauthorized purchases were
made by Ms. Pickens during her tenure as Executive Director from 2015-2017.
