Frankfort Library Announces Early Expo Events

The 2019 Women’s Expo is March 16, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Frankfort Community Public Library. In addition to a wide variety of vendors, we will host three speakers: author Janis Thornton, Holocaust Survivor, author, and forgiveness advocate Eva Kor, and entrepreneur Rosa Gaeta.  The Frankfort Library has plenty of programs throughout the month of March to get everyone ready for this big day.

Join us for a free showing of the PBS documentary, The Story of Eva on March 2 at 1 p.m. in the Skanta Theatre. This documentary is about the life and mission of Eva Kor, who survived Auschwitz and inhuman experiments by notorious Nazi doctor Josef Mengele. Eva Kor fights to keep the lessons of the Holocaust alive and delivers a message of forgiveness.  This is a free event and is recommended for ages 10 and up.

Do you have a sweet tooth?  On March 5 at 6 p.m. in Harry’s Coffee Bar we will serve treats from Mama Ines Mexican Bakery in Lafayette.  Sip on hot cocoa, coffee or water while you taste some special treats.  This is a free event and is open to all ages and abilities. Rosa Gaeta Cornejo is the owner and operator of the popular Mama Ines Mexican Bakery, and will share her story at the Women’s Expo on March 16.

All are invited to a book discussion on March 12 from 6-7 p.m. in Harry’s Coffee Bar to discuss Janis Thornton’s novel, Too Good a Girl: Remembering Olene Emberton and the Mystery of her Death by Janis Thornton.  The Frankfort Library has copies available for check-out, and also signed copies that can be purchased for $13 at the Circulation desk.  You can pay with cash, check or credit card.

We would like to thank our sponsors this year:  Regions Bank, Friends of the Frankfort Library, Psi Iota Xi and Zonta.
