I-65 Crash Claims Life of Washington State Woman

At approximately 12:06 p.m. Sunday, a crash claimed the life of a Washington woman. A semi was stopped on I-65 southbound at the 161 mile marker in Tippecanoe County. Traffic had presumably stopped for crashes ahead on the interstate.

Preliminary investigation by Senior Trooper Jared Foutch revealed a 2014 International semi-tractor was being operated by 38 year old Shandia Rhodes of Indianapolis, for Greatwide American Trans-Freight of Langhorne, PA. While stopped in traffic the semi-trailer was rear-ended by a 2017 Nissan Sentra passenger car. Witnesses stated they saw the Nissan approaching at highway speeds and failed to slow down before striking the semi. The Nissan was being driven by 25-year-old Kaden Milliren of Goldendale, WA. Milliren was transported to the hospital for injuries. The Nissan sustained severe damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. A female passenger sustained fatal injuries. She was identified as 22-year-old Jade Foster of Goldendale, WA. Family has been notified. Both occupants of the Nissan were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.

The interstate was shut down approximately four hours for multiple crashes in the area.
