IU Health has announced the first baby of the year born in Clinton County happened on January 2 when Melanie Blocher of Rossville delivered an infant boy. The first baby of the year born in White County was on January 2 when Amy Cocanower of Monticello delivered an infant boy.
The first baby of the year was born at 5:11 a.m. on Monday, January 1, at IU Health in Lafayette. Perrin Michael Barsteika was born to Erin and Michael Barsteika of Fowler. He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces and was 21.8 inches long. He is the couple’s first child.
