‘Nothing but Knit’ Announced as First NBA All-Star Initiative

Inside INdiana Business is reporting that Pacers Sports & Entertainment and members of the 2021 NBA All-Star Local Organizing Committee board have announced the first community-wide initiative leading up to the 70th NBA All-Star Game that will take place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on February 14, 2021. The program is called “Nothing but Knit” and calls upon the community to knit or crochet navy blue and gold beanie hats that will be part of the official uniform for volunteers and frontline hospitality workers during the NBA All-Star weekend.

A limited number of free kits will be available starting today around the city. Classes and other events related to “Nothing But Knit,” including an opportunity to attend a Pacers game for free and create a beanie, will be announced soon.

In an interview that will be featured in Studio (i), Rick Fuson, founding chairman, president and chief operating officer of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, said “Nothing but Knit” is first initiative for what will be a major sports attraction coming in 2021.

“You will see a lot of announcements from us. We want this to be the best all-star ever. We want it to be right for the NBA, right for the game of basketball, right for Indianapolis and right for the state so you’re gonna see a lot of different things as we reach out all across the state to make sure that all 92 counties touch this all-star game in 2021.” said  Fuson.
