Portions of I-69 to be Closed for Pothole Repair

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will be out filling potholes permanently this week on portions of I-69 between Anderson and Daleville.

An asphalt plant will be opened tonight so crews have access to hot asphalt to make the pothole patching more permanent and safer for drivers.

Weather permitting, crews will begin tonight.

The work will be divided into four sections. In each section, there will be lane closures while patching is completed.

The first section will be in the southbound lanes of I-69 from mile markers 222 to 227. The left lane will be closed first while crews patch potholes. Then, the right lane will be closed once the left is complete.

Crews will work during the day and overnight as weather permits, to make sure the patching is completed quickly and safely.

Crews are scheduled to be off the roads during peak rush hour times.

During each shift, crews should be able to patch about 2.5 miles of roadway, weather permitting.

A maintenance crew will be patrolling the whole stretch of I-69 (mm 217- mm 245) to temporarily fill any potholes that open up before crews can patch them. The maintenance crew will be patrolling 24/7.

Drivers are reminded to slow down when a crew is on the road and obey the posted speed limit of 45 mph.
