State Road 38 Bridge Over Sugar Creek Will Close July 9

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces State Road 38 (S.R. 38) will close on or after Monday, July 9 for a bridge deck replacement nearly two miles west of U.S. 421 on the bridge over Sugar Creek. The roadway is scheduled to reopen on September 21.

The official detour will utilize State Road 39 to S.R. 47 to U.S. 421 and back.

This project was awarded to Force Construction Co. for $3.1 million. This project also includes a bridge replacement on S.R. 39 over Sugar Creek, and a bridge deck overlay on both the eastbound and westbound U.S. 52 bridges over Goldsberry Creek, west of S.R.47. The contractor has already completed a small structure replacement on S.R. 39 south of I-65 in Boone County.
