US 52 Resurfacing Project Work Will Resume Next Week

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces work will resume on U.S. 52 from South 30th St. in Lafayette to C.R. 800 South on or after Monday, March 18, weather permitting. There will be work during the day and night with traffic restricted to one 11′ lane in each direction in the area they will be working.

The contractor is planning asphalt paving through the intersection of U.S. 52 and Veterans Memorial Parkway Wednesday, March 20 through Saturday, March 23. Traffic on Veterans Memorial Parkway could experience long delays and are encouraged to seek an alternate route during this time frame.

Rieth-Riley Construction was awarded this contract for $10.5 million. This project includes patching and resurfacing U.S. 52 from South 30th St. in Lafayette to East C.R. 900 South, approximately seven miles southeast of Lafayette.

This work is scheduled for completion in early May.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
