30th Annual Senior Fair Starts Today At 9 AM

The 30th Annual Senior Fair will be held today, Wednesday, September 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Life Center, which is behind the First Church of the Nazarene at 2056 E. Wabash St., in Frankfort or right across from Frankfort High School. All seniors age 50-and-above are invited to attend. This year’s theme is “Thirty Years of Celebrating Seniors”.

One of the main objectives of the day is to “improve the quality of life for area seniors”.  This is accomplished through free health screenings, ideas and options for improving your home or your health, connecting with your bank or insurance provider, law enforcement, government officials, and of course, connecting with friends and family over a free breakfast and lunch.

There will be free admission along with door prizes and fun. Seniors can visit nearly 50 booths from area businesses and organizations offering products and services for seniors. There will also be free breakfast, free lunch, free health screenings along with flu and pneumonia shots available with insurance and Medicare filing available.

The free breakfast is sponsored by Goodwin Funeral Home and Archer Weston Funeral Home and Cremation Center as well as Hearing Solutions of Indiana. Breakfast is being served by Hoops. The free lunch is sponsored by Home National Bank and Genda Funeral Home. Lunch is being served by Shoup’s Catering. Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition will offer the following free health screenings — blood pressure, blood glucose and BMI (body mass index). Flu and pneumonia shots from the Clinton County Health Department will also be available for a fee. Individuals will also be able to play bingo and win prizes.

Individuals will have also be able to get totes to carry their information and things from the Fair. The totes are being sponsored by State Senior Brian Buchanan.

On-stage entertainment will be provided by the Wildcat Creek String Band. Stage sponsor is IU Health.

Due to parking concerns near the Community Life Center, people will be able to park in the Frankfort High School parking lot nearest to Maish Road.
