Police Announce Road Closures for Bales Strong Event

With the Bales Strong 5K Run/Walk scheduled to start Saturday morning at 8 a.m., Frankfort Police would like to remind residents of road closures and to expect delays during the event.

According to Deputy Chief Scott Shoemaker, “Several city street will be closed during the event to ensure a safe running and walking environment for participants in the Bales Strong 5K. Once the event starts, we are expecting some street closures and delays to only last an hour”.

Expect delays and closures on:

  • East Washington Street (at the Police Station) to Crescent Drive
  • Crescent Drive
  • Clinton Drive
  • Outer Drive

The Bales Strong 5k Run/Walk is organized by the Frankfort Police Department Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. Online registration has ended, however day of event registration is still available and starts at 7 a.m. at the Frankfort Police Department, located at 201 W Washington Street. Event starts at 8 a.m. All proceeds will be donated to Frankfort Police Officer Robert Bales who was diagnosed with ALS in February.
