Clinton County Republican Party Chairman Jim Moyer released the timeline for the Frankfort Clerk-Treasurer vacancy Thursday evening. It is as follows:
February 27 — Letter of resignation received.
February 28 — Notification of vacancy is mailed on this date.
March 9 — Candidates file declaration no later than this date at 5 p.m.
March 12 — Caucus held on this date at 5 p.m.
March 13 — County Clerk notified of selection on this date.
March 13 — New Frankfort Clerk-Treasurer takes office on this date.
Moyer said the caucus winner will be determined by a majority of the precincts that are at the caucus.
The Frankfort Clerk-Treasurer position became available when Judy Sheets was elected as the new Mayor of the City of Frankfort on February 22.
