‘The Gong Show’ Coming Back to WILO At 7 P.M. Tonight

To help people get through the coronavirus and other assorted life issues, WILO-AM and FM is bringing back “The Gong Show” from 7-8 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

“The Gong Show” was a staple on WILO during the ice storm in the early 90s. The show is known for its absurdist humor and style, with the actual competition secondary to the often outlandish acts presented. A small cash prize was typically awarded to each show’s winner.

Our WILO/Hoosierland TV winner each night will be given one free pizza to be delivered to their home (if in the delivery area) by Greek’s Pizzeria. Sponsors are Wampler Services, Inc., Archer Weston Funeral and Cremation Center in Frankfort, Goodwin Funeral Home in Frankfort and Susan Kaspar State Farm Insurance in Frankfort.

Clean jokes, riddles, solo or group music performances, poems you make up or share, dedications to parents, friends or grandparents are all “fair game”. Each “Act” is performed by simply calling the radio station during the LIVE broadcast at 765-659-3338.  Bill Gant will bring his zany humor to the program as MC.

“The Gong Show” is like a big community campfire”, said Russ Kaspar President and GM of Kaspar Media. “It is a chance for all of us to be together even if we are separated.  Help us bring a smile and a little hope to our neighbors by sharing your talents on the program,” Kaspar said.

Moms have commented that they love the kids having something to look forward to each day of the program…and gives them something to do to prepare for their performance.

The program starts Wednesday April 8th at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on WILO 1570 AM, WILO FM 96.9 FM and LIVE and Archived Worldwide at www.Hoosierland TV.
