Patient Services Set to Resume at IU Health Arnett

IU Health is slowly resuming elective procedures, select clinical services and in person Primary Care services. The return to providing standard operations for these services will be gradual and thoughtful. The safety of our team members and patients remains the top priority.

We will continue to conduct most visits virtually through IU Health Virtual Visitsor you can call 765.448.8100 to schedule a virtual appointment with your primary care provider or specialist.

PRIMARY CARE

Starting Monday, May 11, 2020, Primary Care locations will be open for in-person visits by appointment only. For all scheduled, in-person appointments you can expect.

  • All patient-facing providers are required to wear a mask.
  • All patients will be required to wear a mask, which we will provide.
  • We will continue to follow our strict policies and procedures for cleaning surfaces.
  • Waiting areas have been re-configured to support social distancing. We are also establishing processes to minimize, or eliminate, any time spent in waiting rooms.
  • Visitor restrictions remain in place to limit the potential spread. We encourage patients to come to appointments alone.

URGENT CARE
Urgent Care and Walk-In services are available without an appointment and will be done virtually when possible. You can view Urgent Care wait times, save your spot in line and even complete a virtual visit from the comfort of your home. Visit iuhealth.org/urgentcare.

Immediate care for non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries is available at the IU Health Arnett Urgent Care located in West Lafayette during their normal business hours, 8 am – 8 pm daily.

The Urgent Care located at 1 Walter Scholer Drive in Lafayette will continue to be closed. This decision has been made to help consolidate resources, protect our front-line team members and preserve Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

If your medical condition is life-threatening, go to the nearest emergency department or call 911.

ELECTIVE SURGERIES AND OUTPATIENT SERVICES

Patients who previously had appointments for elective surgeries will be prioritized by illness severity and safety for the patient. Scheduling priority will include considerations for the availability of staffing, equipment and PPE, as many of these resources were redeployed to serve the COVID-19 care units. Additional logistics, such as patient flow and available waiting areas will be incorporated to account for social distancing guidelines.

The physician’s office will contact the patient to schedule procedure and provide important information about how IU Health will keep them safe during their visit, including:

  • Information on how to prepare for the procedure
  • Instructions on how to receive a COVID-19 test prior to the procedure if required by the physician
  • Information on IU Health visitor restrictions and masking guidelines
