There was a nation wide “Back the blue” Rally Saturday afternoon, While other cities held rally’s Tammy Danner organized our local gathering at Old Stoney here in Frankfort.
The demonstration started with prayer before around 50 adults and children gathered with signs to line the sidewalk and show support for our local law enforcement.
Danner says many people feel like law enforcement officers are not being supported during this time with discussions on race are at the fore front.
Mayor Judy Sheets was at the rally and said “We need to let our law enforcement know that we care about them”.
Sheriff Rich Kelly was also at the rally with several of our local law enforcement officers. Kelly spoke to the group saying “I have to just really stress to the community that without their support these are some dark days for us”.
The rally was peaceful and gathered support from vehicles passing by blowing their horns in support of the local law enforcement.
There was notice of one black van with writing all over the windows stating “I can’t breathe” and other quotes being heard all over the world covering its windows driving around several times during the rally. However, there were no problems at the peaceful Back the Blue Rally.
