Inside INdiana Business is reporting when the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament tips off next week at Lucas Oil Stadium, it will be with a limited number of fans in the stands. The conference says it will allow 8,000 people to attend the conference championship, which is set for March 10-14.
The Big Ten announced last month it was relocating the men’s tournament from Chicago to Indianapolis. The women’s tournament was already scheduled to be held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indy from March 9 through March 13.
The Big Ten says it will use mobile tickets only. Stadium gates will open one hour prior to each session of the tournament to accommodate early arriving fans.
Following approval by the Marion County Health Department, the decision to allow a limited capacity of 8,000 attendees was made jointly by the Big Ten Conference Directors of Athletics and the Council of President and Chancellors in consultation with the conference office.
