Kokomo Mayor Tyler Moore announced that Zack Prairie of Lafayette Park International Elementary is the winner of the 2021 Mayor’s Christmas Card Contest.
Mayor Moore introduced Zach, along with each of the finalists from each of the participating schools, during a press conference this morning at City Hall. Zach’s design will be the official Christmas card of the mayor, and it will be sent to hundreds of individuals, including local, state and federal officials, as well as the U.S. President and Vice-President.
Zach’s design features a Christmas tree inside a snow globe with “Merry Christmas Kokomo.”
“Every year I am more and more amazed by the talent of these students in our community,” said Mayor Moore. “The hard work the students and teachers demonstrate each year helps keep the holiday spirit alive with this annual contest. Picking a winner out of all of the incredible entries was just as much fun as it was difficult.”
The annual contest, open to all fourth-grade students in Kokomo Schools, has been a long-standing tradition between Kokomo School Corporation and the Mayor’s office for years. Local students submitted nearly 275 designs this year.
