At approximately 1:52 p.m. Sunday, Boone County first responders responded to the home of Boone County Vice President Councilwoman Marcia Wilhoite on a possible drowning. Upon arrival, Wilhoite was found unresponsive in her swimming pool. Life-saving measures were performed; however, Wilhoite was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
At this time, foul play is not suspected, and the incident is still under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and the Boone County Coroner’s Office.
