Mary Elizabeth “Beti” Morales

Mary Elizabeth ‘Beti’ Morales, 52, of Flora, passed away Saturday morning, July 1, 2023, at Camelot Care Center in Logansport with her sister by her side.  She was born on November 27, 1970, in Kenedy, Texas to the late Meliano Morales-Sandoval and Maria Carmen Reveles-Morales.

Elizabeth was born the third of four children to her loving and devoted parents.  As the story was told by her mother, Beti was born with Cerebral Palsy but because of a language barrier between they and the doctors in Texas, it wasn’t until Beti was three months old when a doctor in Indianapolis was able to find another doctor who could speak Spanish they knew of her diagnosis.  Her father’s sacrifice of love was to work multiple jobs throughout the years so her mother, Carmen, could care for her. Her mother was her hands and feet. Her mother was her everything. She was lovingly referred to by her mother as ‘Queen’ and was her full-time commitment of love for 52 years.

She resided with her parents until both of their passings just a few short months ago.

When Beti was younger, she went to school with other children with disabilities, enjoyed pulling herself up to the kitchen sink to play in the soap bubbles, and playing on the floor with her siblings and nephews. As she got older, she enjoyed being wherever her mother was and watching game shows and tv with her family.

Beti was loved by all.

Elizabeth is survived by her siblings, Leon (Lori) Morales, Maria (Carlos) Ramirez, Jose (Amy) Morales; nieces and nephews, Carmen Richter, Matthew (Jenny) Richter, Anthony Morales, Claire Overmyer, Derek Overmyer, Ivette (Richardo) Castillo, Carlos Ramirez; and several great nephews and nieces.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by nephews; Jose Gerardo Morales Jr. and Meliano Leon Morales and a great nephew, Mateo Richter, Jr.

Visitation will be held at 430pm on Thursday, July 6, 2023, until the time of the service at 530pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Rienke Chapel.  Father Chris Miller will officiate.  Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
