Freezing rain overspreads the region from west to east Monday evening. Heaviest freezing rain rates expected during the overnight hours. Lower confidence exists in the transition time from freezing rain to rain as warmer air surges north Tuesday morning. This may not look like a classic freezing ran event with ice coating trees and powerlines. With warmer air coming in aloft, trees and powerlines may be ice free, while surfaces and untreated road remain icy.
Affected areas are Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Parke, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren counties.
Motorists are urged to slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages. Visit 511in.org for latest road information.
