The Double Eagle Tour Of Indiana Kicks Off March 30 In Whitestown

Whitestown was announced as the first stop on the Double Eagle Tour of Indiana this year as the golf league travels across the state playing golf Fed Ex Cup style, which includes all abilities from the single-digit handicaps to a max of 36.

The 16-event tour will take its first stop on March 30 at the Golf Club of Indiana at 6905 S. 525 E. in Whitestown. From late March through late September, the tour will travel across Indiana with opportunities for the members to earn points. Most of the destinations will host regular points, with the tournaments at Rock Hollow in Peru on May 4, Sultan’s Run in Jasper on June 22, Kampen-Cosler at Purdue in West Lafayette on Aug. 24 and Pfau at IU in Bloomington on Sept. 28 being classified as “major points.” The tournament at Woodland Trails in Yorktown on June 1 will act as a charity event.

The tour will round out in October with a 54-hole, 16-player Ryder Cup to end the season.

According to the event organizers, “we go by best 3 rounds of last 8, so only your absolute best count, prevents sandbagging.”

The organizers stated that last year’s tour had 12 different winners over 15 events, and they stated, “we are proud of our parity and everyone’s ability to have an opportunity to win.”

The membership fee for the Double Eagle Tour of Indiana is $120, which allows participation in all the events. Medals and trophies will be awarded as keepsakes to showcase every golfer’s wins.

Golfers will tee off at 9 a.m. at the Golf Club of Indiana at 6905 S. 525 E. in Whitestown on March 30.
