A Smoother ride is coming to 100 East on North Maish Road in Frankfort. Soon North Maish Road/100 East will no longer cross the tracks. Immediately north of the Michigantown Road intersection, road work on 100 West North Maish Road will soon result in a leveling out and new paving over the existing Railroad Track now crossing 100 East.
Gravel will cover the existing track area “for a couple weeks” until paving can be done. Traffic should be able to travel on North Maish Road by mid-week, according to Clinton County Highway Superintendent Rick Campbell. “This was the perfect week to do it. No School buses are running this week” Campbell said.
Any day now, Clinton County is hoping to get word that a 1.3 Million dollar Community Crossing grant has been approved, allowing new paving on the Michigantown Blacktop from Maish Road to Michigantown. WILO, Boone 102.7 and Clinton County Daily News will keep you informed if the grant for this project is approved.
North Maish Road should be open mid-week if weather co-operates. New paving over the gravel will be scheduled for this spring and as soon as possible.
