Colfax Issues Reminders For Golf Cart Operations During Summer Months

The Town of Colfax issued a reminder for community members to abide by the laws and regulations set forth regarding golf cart usage in the area.

The town stated that as summer approaches, golf carts become a common sight across Colfax, and the community needs to remain vigilant with following the regulations set forth for operators. According to the town, operators must be at least 15-years-old and must possess a valid state-issued drivers license or learner’s permit to remain legal on the roads.

All golf carts driven on the roadway must also display a slow-moving vehicle sign that is visible from the back of the cart. If the golf cart is operated between dusk and dawn, the vehicle must have working headlights and tail lights to remain within the code. The golf cart must also not have more people on board than seats available. Individuals are not permitted to sit anywhere besides the seats, such as standing on the back of the vehicle, standing on the sides or sitting atop another individual.

“Thank you for your cooperation as we want to keep our citizens safe,” the town released.
