Sheriff Tony Harris welcomed Deputy Tom Maxson to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office as the newest addition to Boone Meadow where he will be assigned as a school resource officer. Harris commented that Maxson brings a wealth of experience to the Sheriff’s Office and the school.

“Deputy Maxson brings a wealth of experience with him, having served 28 years with the Lafayette Police Department,” Harris wrote. “During his tenure there, he was a General Instructor, Firearms Instructor and Field Training Officer.”

Harris stated that upon his retirement from the Lafayette Police Department, Maxson continued his service to the region by dedication himself to maintaining the safety and educational experience as a school resource officer for Lebanon Middle School. Maxson will relocate to Boone Meadow Elementary to continue his school resource officer duties to protect, serve and engage the students.
