Colfax Addresses Comments Regarding Electronic Speed Signs

The Town of Colfax released a statement regarding comments received about the electronic speed signs that have been implemented along certain streets of the town near the park.

The town released a statement on Thursday that the electronic speed signs implemented along Park Street in front of the Lion’s Club Park were implemented at no cost to the town as the signs were acquired through the use of grant money, and the signs were installed to ensure that drivers in the area are aware of the speed limit to increase the safety for pedestrians and cyclists utilizing the trail.

The speed limit in the area is 20-miles-per-hour and has been set at 20-miles-per-hour since the town issued speed limits in the area, according to town officials.

“Please do your part to keep our park and trail a safe place,” the town released.
