George A. Evans, 63, of rural Kirklin, died July 22, 2024 at his home. He was born March 31, 1961 in Frankfort, Ind. to Charles Evans and Dorothy (Hubert) Koppelmann. He married Beth Evans on September 18, 1993 in Kirklin and she survives.
George was a 1979 graduate of Clinton Central and received his Associates degree in Electrical Engineering from ITT in Indianapolis. He was a fork truck driver, working for Hendrickson in Lebanon for 25 years and had also worked at Exide Battery in Frankfort for 20 years. A lifelong resident of Clinton County, he was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Kirklin. George enjoyed fishing, gardening, shooting guns, drag racing, golfing and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife: Beth Evans of rural Kirklin, sons: Colton Evans of Kirklin, Reece Evans of Kirklin, brother: David (Deb) Evans of Kirklin, sisters: Diana Moore of Kirklin, Kathy (Kenny Waters) Crick of Kirklin and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, George Koppelmann, father and mother in-law, Kenny Evans & Joyce Evans, 3 brothers-in-law, Dalton Moore, Clet Crick and Mike Evans, 4 nephews, Joe Moore, Jaden Quick, Skylar Evans and Carson Perry.
Funeral Service:
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 26th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin. Memorial donations may be made to the Kirklin American Legion, P.O. Box 217, Kirklin, IN 46050.
