The Frankfort Community Public Library will host a five-session workshop, The Art of Papermaking, this August.

Join artist Terry Lacy and rediscover a timeless craft, transforming a simple material into a captivating art form.

From the initial beating of cotton fibers to the final press under 20 tons of pressure, this workshop reveals the intricate steps behind an artful transformation.

Supported by the Indiana Arts Commission in partnership with the Family and Social Services Administration, this workshop was made possible through a Lifelong Arts Indiana grant promoting arts and creativity services for adults ages 65 and older.

This is a free workshop, but due to the nature of the process, it is limited to 10 seats. Registration is required, and participants must be aged 65 or older. The workshop will take place in the library art studio on the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, August 22: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 24: 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. (15-minute break between sessions)
  • Monday, August 26: 4 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. (15-minute break between sessions)
