Carroll Superintendent Releases Statement Regarding Thursday Evening Threat; Law Enforcement Deems Threat ‘Not Credible’

Carroll Consolidated School Corporation Superintendent Keith Thackery released a statement regarding the instance of a threat on Thursday evening, Sept. 26, which investigations deemed unfounded.

Thackery stated that at approximately 8 p.m., a message of a potential elementary school threat was circulating on social media before being brought to the attention of Carroll School Administrators. Law enforcement was reportedly contacted immediately to report the information, and the threat was investigated. The report from law enforcement stated that no credibility of the reported threat had been substantiated, but for the safety of the students and staff, the corporation would continue to have police presence at all the schools to ensure the building is safe.

“We thank you for your support as we continue to work together to ensure that our schools provide a safe learning environment for our students,” Thackery released.
