Cross Country Regional Results; Four Local Runners Moving On To State Finals

Cross Country Regionals took place at regional sites across Indiana on Saturday. Here are the results.

Regional 3 – Brownsburg

Runners from Clinton Prairie, Frankfort, Clinton Central, Delphi, Western Boone and Carroll competed at the Brownsburg regional.

Clinton Prairie’s Hayden Kemple finished second overall, with a time of 15:11.7 finishing seven seconds shy of first place.

Christopher Angeles of Frankfort finished fourth overall with a time of 15:21.0.

Spencer Dunn from Clinton Central finished 29th overall with a time of 16:09.5.

Kemple, Angeles, and Dunn all qualified for the Cross Country State Finals at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute on Saturday, Nov. 2. The girls’ race will begin at noon with the boys to follow at 2:30.

Several other runners participated in the regional race, with many finishing in personal best times.

For Clinton Prairie, Brayden Clawson finished 91st with a time of 17:01.7, Diego Rangel finished 192nd with a time of 18:20.2, and in the girls’ race, Lexi Grant finished 183rd with a time of 22:54.2

For Clinton Central, Isaiah Sanders finished 126th with a time of 17:27.3.

For Frankfort, the girls’ team finished 21st out of 27 total teams. Kimberley Moreno finished 91st with a time of 20:59.0, Ashley Vasquez-Rivera finished 147th with a time of 22:04.6, Noemi Garcia finished 164th with a time of 22:18.8, Nallely Yanez-Salinas finished 180th with a time of 22:50.7, and Caledonia Kays finished 223rd with a time of 24:12.0. Nicolas Angeles finished 147th in the boys’ race with a time of 17:43.0.

For Carroll, Noah Johnson finished 205th with a time of 18:33.4 in the boys’ race. Jillian Salts finished 131st with a time of 21:42.5 and Riley Hayden finished 207th with a time of 23:29.2.

For Delphi, Sarah Perry finished 97th with a time of 21:04.2 and Miley Ayon finished 188th with a time of 22:58.4 in the girls’ race. In the boys’ race, Johnny Martinez finished 137th with a time of 17:36.1 and Harrison Bernfield finished 213th with a time of 18:55.8.

For Western Boone, Edoardo Carapia finished 146th with a time of 17:42.4, Aiden Lester finished 177th with a time of 18:04.0, and Alex Crockett finished 208th with a time of 18:38.7. In the girls’ race, Charlotte Stucky finished 114th with a time of 21:22.2 and Joan Gearheart finished 122nd with a time of 21:30.8.

A total of 247 runners finished in the boys’ race and 238 runners finished in the girls’ race.

 

Regional 4 – Shelbyville

Six runners from Lebanon raced in the Shelbyville Regional.

Penny Lamerson finished 25th overall with a time of 19:21.8, qualifying for the State Final.

Other runners in the girls’ race for the Tigers were Sophie Kyker who placed 114th and Claire Larson who finished 131st.

In the boys’ race, William Meyer finished 122nd, Tyler Meyer finished 123rd and Isaac Harvey placed 211th.
