Local Business Raises Funds For Local Family Following Loss; Go Fund Me Nears $40,000 Raised

A local business will be hosting its annual fundraiser in support of two community members that suffered a loss last week, which has seen an overwhelming response from the community.

Oak and Ko Designs announced that every year, the team hosts a fundraiser aimed at providing comfort and support to families during the holiday season, such as benefiting families at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. However, this year, the team will assist the family of Christine and Isaac Rudd, who lost a daughter on Friday, Nov. 1.

The Rudds have been celebrated for their consistent support of the community through their musical talents, youth sports and uplifting small businesses, such as through Christine’s operation of Fiddle & Steel Co. in Frankfort.

On Friday, Nov. 1, Isaac was involved in a car accident while returning from Clinton Central Elementary after picking up his and Christine’s children, which resulted in the loss of their three-year-old daughter.

“The depth of their grief is unimaginable,” the Oak and Ko team released. “As they navigate this profound loss, I am to help alleviate some of their financial burdens, allowing them the space to mourn.”

In support of the family, the team sold stocking tags for $7 with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the Rudd family. The team announced that within a few days, the team has become completely booked with stocking tag orders for the family.

Community members may still support the Rudd Family through their Go Fund Me page. As of 2 p.m. today, Nov. 5, the community has raised $31,247 in support of the family and in memoriam of Navy Ray Rudd.
