Christmas Tree Lighting Festival Organizer MaryLynn Peter announced the itinerary for the festival this year set for Saturday, Dec. 7 following the Christmas Parade through downtown Frankfort.
The festival will kick off at Prairie Creek Park at 4:30 p.m. with three dance routines from Stage 1 Dance Studio, which will be followed by performances from the Frankfort High School Orchestra at 5:30 p.m.
At 6:30 p.m., the Lip Sync Contest will dance off on The Farmers Bank Performance Center Stage with songs to be announced in the near future. Peter requested participants above the age of 16 to participate this year.
At 7:15 p.m., prizes will be awarded for the Best Men, Women and Kids Ugly Christmas Sweater during the annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest.
The festivities culminate in the lighting of the tree at 8 p.m. where the winner of the coloring contest will light up the tree alongside Frankfort Mayor Judy Sheets.
“Let’s have some fun,” Peter wrote. “Practice those songs and get your best sweater ready.”
