Indiana Property Tax Deduction Deadline Set For Dec. 31

The deadline to file property tax deductions stands at just over a month, set for Dec. 31 this year for eligible community members.

The Indiana Department of Local Government Finance stated that “deductions work by reducing the amount of assessed value a taxpayer pays on a given parcel of property.” Taxpayers who previously applied for a deduction are not required to apply again annually, and reapplication should only occur if the property sold to another owner or the title is changed.

Deductions applied for before the deadline will be applied to next year’s tax bill.
