The Delphi Police Department has once again saved Christmas following the arrest of a notorious thief threatening to steal Christmas Saturday afternoon during the Christmas Parade organized by the Delphi Lions Club.
The department announced that its investigation into The Grinch, who steals presents, food, stockings and the Christmas tree from the Whos of Whoville, led them to discover the notorious thief disguising himself as Santa Claus and traveling to Whoville with his dog, Max.
Officers were able to track him down and took him into custody before he could steal any Delphi presents this year, effectively saving Christmas for the little girls and boys of Delphi this holiday season. The officers continued their day by participating in the annual Christmas Parade in Delphi.
“Thank you to Delphi Lions Club for organizing another great parade,” the department released. “Thanks City of Delphi Clerk-Treasurer Price and Oscar, aka Grinch and Max, for playing along.”
The department hopes that the arrest will deter The Grinch from continuing his thieving spree, and reports state that The Grinch’s heart may have grown three sizes that day.
Editor’s Note: This article does not depict an actual arrest of a person in Delphi. The “arrest” of The Grinch was staged by the Delphi Police Department officers for entertainment during the holiday season.
