Boone County Man Sentenced To 123 Years In Department Of Corrections For Sex Crimes Against Children

The Boone County Prosecutor’s Office released information regarding the sentencing of a man to 123 years at the Indiana Department of Corrections for crimes committed between 2020 and 2022.

The department announced that today, March 5, Boone County Circuit Court Judge Lori Schein sentenced John Eric Peterson to 123 years at the Indiana Department of Corrections for multiple counts of child sex crimes. At the sentencing hearing, Peterson was classified as a sexually violent predator and was determined to be a credit restricted felon.

On Feb. 19, Peterson pled guilty to four counts of child molesting, level 1 felony, one count of child molesting, level 4 felony, one count of child exploitation, level 4 felony, one count of possession of child pornography, level 5 felony, and one county of neglect of a dependent, level 6 felony.
