Frankfort Pursuit Suspect Arrested Without Further Incident

A Frankfort man was arrested yesterday following a Tuesday pursuit that resulted in a crash between a Frankfort Police Department vehicle and another vehicle.

On April 1, a pursuit was reportedly initiated based on information that a wanted person, identified as Devin Cox, was operating a motorcycle in Frankfort. The Frankfort Police Department followed the vehicle, but a crash occurred at First Street and Walnut Street between a Frankfort Police Officer and another vehicle, authorities state.

The pursuit was terminated due to the crash, and no injuries were reported, but both vehicles were towed. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.

Yesterday, April 2, officers and detectives reportedly located Cox in Frankfort, and he was taken into custody without further incident. Cox was taken to IU Frankfort Hospital for Jail clearance.

In addition to the arrest warrants of violation of probation, burglary, theft and resisting law enforcement, Cox was arrested on possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

The department stated that an internal review of the pursuit policy will be conducted to ensure all policies and procedures were followed in the incident.
