Rossville Choirs proudly represented the community this past Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Music in the Parks Choral Competition held at Kings High School in Mason, Ohio. Three ensembles took the stage with confidence and musical excellence, returning home with top ratings and notable placements.

The Rossville Singers (Grades 6–8 Treble Choir) performed for “rating only” and achieved the highest possible honor: a Superior rating with an outstanding score of 93.5—the second-highest score among all middle school choirs that day.

Next to take the stage was Class Act, Rossville’s Grades 9–12 mixed chorus. Competing in a highly competitive division, the ensemble delivered a strong performance, earning an Excellent rating with a score of 88.5 and placing 3rd overall in their category.

The final ensemble to perform, Sophisticated Ladies (Grades 9–12 Women’s Chorus), impressed judges with their musicality and stage presence, earning an Excellent rating with a score of 89.5 and securing 1st place in their division.

“I couldn’t be prouder of how these students represented our school—both on and off the stage,” said Choir Director Jordan Buck. “They sang with heart, supported one another, and showed true Rossville pride throughout the day.”

Buck also expressed sincere appreciation for the support team that made the trip possible. “We were fortunate to have over a dozen parent and staff chaperones who gave up their Saturday to help supervise, encourage, and care for our students,” Buck added. “Their presence made the day run smoothly and helped create a fun and safe experience for everyone involved.”

Following the competition, the choirs celebrated their accomplishments with a well-earned visit to Kings Island. Students enjoyed sunshine, camaraderie, and a few thrilling roller coasters to top off a memorable day.

Rossville’s continued success at events like Music in the Parks reflects its music program’s strength and its student performers’ dedication. Congratulations to all participants on a fantastic showing!
