Rex Allen Pitzer 78, of Kirklin, Indiana, passed away July 26, 2025 at the Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette, IN.  He was born March 24, 1947 in Frankfort, IN to Lee & Maxine (Obermiller) Pitzer.  He was previously married to Linda Gibson Benge.

Rex was a 1965 graduate of Frankfort High School and lived in Clinton County his entire life.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from July 13, 1966 to April 24, 1968 in the Vietnam War.  He was a pipefitter/steamfitter for the Local 440 for over 55 years.  Rex enjoyed fishing, playing guitar and loved his cats.  For 25 years, he hosted the Wednesday Night Blues at the Slippery Noodle in Indianapolis.

Rex is survived by his son, Jamie Pitzer of Frankfort, sister, Beth Hardebeck, step-son, Morgan Turley of Kirklin and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by brothers, Larry Pitzer in 2016, Dennis Pitzer in 2020, Ronnie Pitzer in 2006 and sister, Judy King in 2008.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 Noon, August 17, 2025 at the Kirklin Park Shelter House, Kirklin, IN.  Following the Celebration of Life, Military Honors will take place at 2 p.m. August 17th by the Clinton County Honor Guard.  Clinton County Crematory and Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S.
