UPDATE: U.S. 31 pavement repairs nearing completion in Howard County

Information Provided by INDOT

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the concrete pavement repairs on northbound U.S. 31 in Kokomo are nearing completion.

The northbound lanes of U.S. 31 closed in the middle of October between the State Road 931 interchanges on the north and south sides of Kokomo for concrete pavement repairs. That work is scheduled to be completed by Thanksgiving, with all lanes reopening at that time, weather permitting.

During the final weeks of this closure, drivers are encouraged to continue using the official detour of S.R. 931.

INDOT encourages drivers to consider safety for all by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.

About Buckle Up Phone Down
Buckle Up Phone Down is a safety initiative adopted by the Indiana Department of Transportation in late 2023. Unrestrained motorists and passengers, as well as distracted driving continue to be contributing factors in fatal and serious injury crashes on Indiana roadways. Buckle Up Phone Down is one of many efforts to change driver behavior and improve roadway safety across Indiana.

The actions are simple: when you get into a vehicle, buckle up. If you are the driver, put the phone down. Every trip. Every time. Learn more and accept the challenge at BUPDIN.com.
