The Rossville Lady Hornets defeated the Clinton Prairie Lady Gophers 51-33 last night on the Hoosierland TV Game of the Week.
Clinton Prairie came into the game looking for its first win and put up a fight against the undefeated Hornets.
The Gophers’ stingy defense held the high-powered Rossville squad to just seven points in the first quarter.
Rossville’s defense did the same, allowing just two made field goals in the first half and taking a 19-9 lead into the break.
In the second half, Rossville senior Allie Elliott sparked a run for the Hornets by knocking down back-to-back three-pointers, leading to a 37-19 advantage after three quarters.
The Gopher didn’t go down without a fight. Freshman Emmy Kaser knocked down three triples in the second half after splashing two from distance in the first. Kaser finished with a game-high 21 points and five threes; she was named The Farmers Bank Player of the Game.

Rossville finished strong in the fourth quarter and took the contest 51-33.
The Hornets dominated on the glass, pulling down 33 rebounds. Senior Addi Gorbett led the way with 12, Elliott added seven and Senior Ave Burkle notched five, going along with her team-high 16 points.
Burkle also collected five steals and blocked three shots for the Hornets.
Rossville improves to 5-0 and 3-0 in conference play to start the 2025-2026 campaign. Their next matchup will come on Dec. 4 against North White.
Clinton Prairie falls to 0-5. They’ll look for their first win on Tuesday, Dec. 2, against Lebanon.
