Rossville FFA students once again took part in a long-standing winter tradition, the chapter’s annual ski trip. This year’s outing included 22 students and four chaperones and served as both a celebration of student dedication and a chance to build confidence outside the classroom.
Located in southwest Michigan, Bittersweet Ski Resort is one of the region’s most popular winter recreation destinations, offering multiple ski runs, snowboard terrain, and beginner-friendly slopes. Its accessibility and variety of options make it an ideal location for student groups with a wide range of experience levels, from first-time skiers to seasoned riders.
Participation in the trip is earned, not automatic. At the start of the school year, Rossville FFA establishes requirements tied to student involvement in fundraising and chapter activities. 
Those efforts help support the program’s events and opportunities throughout the year, and the ski trip serves as a reward for students who consistently contribute their time and effort.
While the trip is a favorite for its fun and camaraderie, advisors emphasize that it also reinforces important life lessons. Many students step outside their comfort zones, learning new skills and discovering firsthand the value of perseverance.
“Falling down is part of skiing,” Lindsey Buck, FFA Advisor, explained. “What matters is getting back up. That lesson carries over into everything our students do.”
This year also marked a milestone, as the trip was the first ski excursion for one of the chapter’s advisors, offering a fresh perspective on a tradition that has long been part of 
Rossville FFA. With strong student participation and continued community support, the annual outing remains a meaningful experience that rewards hard work, builds resilience, and strengthens the chapter’s sense of connection.
