Clinton Prairie Student Athletes Sign With Grace, Rose-Hulman

A pair of Clinton Prairie students signed to continue their academic and athletic careers last night.

Kye Jacobs, a standout baseball and football player, signed to play baseball at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

And Sadie Weliver, an ace in the circle for the Clinton Prairie softball team, signed to play at Grace College.

Jacobs will study Mechanical Engineering, while Weliver is studying Exercise Science.

Clinton Prairie baseball coach Brad Scott said Kye is a great person on and off the field and was dedicated at his sport.

“Kye is a tough kid,” Clinton Prairie football coach Kurt Schlicher said. “Very unselfish player, respectful and polite; congrats to him.”

Former Clinton Prairie softball coach Bryan Craig coached Weliver for the past three seasons and said she made everyone around her better.

“An honor to coach her,” Craig said. “She wanted to have the ball when it mattered most. Not to be the star but to get it done, and she did.”
