FRANKFORT – The Frankfort Community Public Library will host a weekend full of events beginning Friday, March 13, featuring a live concert, the annual Women’s Expo, and a series of community art and craft programs continuing through next week. Library Marketing and Events Coordinator Lori Brubaker discussed the lineup Thursday morning with Shan Sheridan during a live interview on the WILO Party Line Program on WILO 96.9 FM, Boone 102.7 FM, and WILO 1570 AM.
Weekend Kicks Off with Live Music Friday
The weekend begins Friday evening with the first concert of the library’s 2026 concert series featuring Giza. Tickets are $12 and will be available at the door.
“I’m excited for this one,” Brubaker said. “The tickets are only twelve bucks, and you can just pick them up at the door on Friday night.”
Women’s Expo Set for Saturday
The Women’s Expo follows on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., filling multiple rooms of the library with nearly 30 vendors. Brubaker said that wide-ranging displays will include jewelry, chocolate, woodworking, crafts, and local artisans. The event is free and open to the public.
“There’s a little bit of everything for everybody’s desires this time of year,” Brubaker explained. “It’s kind of like an art show throughout the upstairs area.”
Alongside the vendor booths, the library’s gallery will showcase work by five local artists, and a full schedule of guest speakers will take the stage thanks to support from the Frankfort Santa Club.
Women’s Expo Speakers:
– 11 a.m. – Erin Popovich
– 1 p.m. – Krista Stillwell
– 3 p.m. – Esmeralda Cruz
Brubaker noted the event aims to celebrate International Women’s Month while offering a relaxed environment for browsing art and supporting small businesses.
Family-Friendly Swifty Bingo
For music fans of all ages, the library will also host “Swifty Bingo” at 2 p.m. Saturday in the lower level. Players identify Taylor Swift songs to fill their bingo cards.
“If you want to play bingo to Taylor Swift songs, that’ll be what you’re filling out on your card,” Brubaker said. “It’s open to all ages and just for fun.”
Craft Swap Returns Next Week
The library’s annual Craft Swap returns for its third year from Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20. Residents can drop off unused craft supplies in Room 219 on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., earning tickets for early selection on Wednesday. Public browsing and free supply pickup take place on Thursday and Friday.
“This event helps people find new hobbies and share creativity without spending money,” Brubaker said.
Looking Ahead
The month will close with the launch of the library’s annual Bookmark Design Contest beginning March 30, leading into this summer’s reading program themed “Unearth the Story.”
Residents can view event details or register online at myfcpl.org or by calling the library at 765-654-8746, ext. 1141.
“There’s always something going on at the library,” Brubaker reminded listeners. “People can plan their whole year just by checking our events calendar.”
