The City of Frankfort is once again giving residents a chance to freshen up their homes and neighborhoods with its Annual Spring Cleanup, organized by the Street Department.
Scheduled from Monday, April 27 through Saturday, May 2, the cleanup event provides a convenient drop-off opportunity for residents looking to dispose of unwanted household items. The service will be available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
This program is open exclusively to City of Frankfort residents who pay the city sanitation or user fee, and participants should be prepared to show identification upon arrival. Officials emphasize that the cleanup is strictly drop-off only, meaning Street Department crews will not collect items from individual homes.
Residents are encouraged to take note of restricted materials. The following items will not be accepted during the cleanup:
- Construction materials
- Tires
- Contractor or commercial loads
With increased traffic expected throughout the week, the Street Department asks participants to remain patient and considerate while entering and exiting the facility. Crews will be on-site working to keep operations running efficiently and safely.
City officials highlight that the annual cleanup is more than just a convenience—it’s an opportunity for the community to come together and maintain a cleaner, more attractive environment.
For additional information, residents can contact the Street Department at 765-659-2912.
As spring arrives, this initiative offers a simple way for Frankfort residents to declutter, dispose responsibly, and contribute to the overall well-being of their community.
