A family-friendly celebration is taking flight in central Indiana as the Hoosier Kitefliers Society partners with the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library to host a special event in honor of National Kite Month.
The event will take place on April 11 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Jeff Stout Community Center in Russiaville. Open to the public, the gathering invites attendees of all ages—whether seasoned kite enthusiasts or first-time flyers—to enjoy a fun and creative outdoor experience.
As part of the event, the library will provide free kites for participants to decorate, while supplies last. Organizers also encourage attendees to bring their own kites to fly. Members of the Hoosier Kitefliers Society will be on hand to offer demonstrations and helpful tips to get kites soaring.
The kite event is just one highlight of a full day of activities celebrating National Library Week, with additional events scheduled to begin at 8:30 AM. The celebration aims to bring the community together through learning, creativity, and outdoor fun.
