More than 500 students expected at HireME! career fair April 29

Greater Lafayette Commerce (GLC)

More than 500 high school juniors and seniors from across the Greater Lafayette region are expected to meet face-to-face with hiring managers during the fourth annual HireME! interviewing and career fair, taking place April 29 at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds, 1406 Teal Road in Lafayette.

Hosted by Greater Lafayette Commerce in partnership with Career+ Pathways by Skyepack, the event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for high school students only, followed by a new public session from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., which will be open to job seekers from across the region.

The expanded format allows both students and adults to connect directly with local employers offering internships, entry-level roles and career opportunities in some of the region’s most in-demand and high-wage industries.

“Events like HireME! can be life-changing moments for students and job seekers alike,” said Kara Webb, Director of Workforce Development at Greater Lafayette Commerce. “A single conversation with an employer can open the door to an internship, a first job or a career path someone may have never considered before. By bringing employers and talent together in one place, we’re helping people see the real opportunities that exist here in Greater Lafayette.”

Every opportunity available through HireME! is considered a Career+ opportunity, meaning it is locally available, in demand and offers strong earning potential with pathways to advancement. Many of these careers also provide opportunities to pursue college or additional credentials without taking on significant debt.

The event has continued to grow each year, reflecting strong regional demand for career-connected learning and workforce opportunities. Local employers representing advanced manufacturing, healthcare, finance, construction, hospitality, technology and other industries are expected to participate, offering attendees the chance to explore careers, ask questions and make meaningful connections with hiring managers.

Participating students represent schools across Greater Lafayette’s nine-county region, including Attica High School, Central Catholic High School, Clinton Central High School, Faith Christian, Frontier High School, Harrison High School, Jefferson High School, McCutcheon High School, Oakland Academy, Seeger High School, Tri-County High School, Twin Lakes High School and West Lafayette High School, among others.

“Building a strong workforce requires more than programs, it requires connection,” said Eric Davis, CEO of Skyepack, a digital learning solutions provider and Career+ partner. “Career+ Pathways helps schools, employers and regional partners coordinate meaningful work-based learning experiences. HireME! is where those connections become real, giving students and community members the chance to engage directly with employers and see the opportunities that exist right here in their region.”

The HireME! event is part of the Greater Lafayette Career+ ecosystem, supported by the Indiana Department of Education that connects students, educators and employers to career-connected learning opportunities across the region. To learn more, visit greaterlafayettecommerce.com.
