Clinton Prairie Elementary has released information for preschool and kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year, with opportunities available for 3-year-old preschool, 4-year-old preschool, kindergarten and transitional kindergarten programs.
School officials say they are looking forward to welcoming a new group of students in the coming year.
For 3-year-old preschool, children must be 3 years old by Aug. 1, 2026. The program costs $395 per month, due on the first of each month, and has 20 available spots, with in-district students given priority.
A second classroom may be opened depending on enrollment. If more than 20 students register and a second classroom is not added, a lottery will be held May 2 to determine placement. Families will be notified by May 5 if their child has secured a spot. Any remaining openings after that date will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
For 4-year-old preschool, children must be 4 years old by Aug. 1, 2026, and must be potty-trained. Children who turn 5 by that date are not eligible for preschool but may enroll in kindergarten. The cost is $300 per month, with 25 available spots and priority given to in-district families.
As with the 3-year-old program, a second classroom may be added if enrollment allows. If more than 25 students apply and space is limited, a lottery will be held May 2. Families will be notified of placement by May 5, with remaining openings filled on a first-come basis.
For both preschool programs, families whose children are offered a spot must pay the final month’s tuition by May 29, 2026, to reserve enrollment. This payment will be applied to May 2027.
Kindergarten Roundup is scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2026. Children must turn 5 on or before Aug. 1, 2026, to enroll in kindergarten. Families must complete a sign-up form, and additional details, including scheduled times, will be sent via email.
The school will also offer a transitional kindergarten program. Priority will be given to children who turn 5 in August and September 2026, followed by those with birthdays between May 1 and July 31, 2026, who are not enrolled in kindergarten.
The transitional kindergarten program is state-funded and free to families. If more than 20 students apply, a lottery will be used to determine placement. Families will be notified by May 5.
