Community-Wide Garage Sale Planned, Organizers Invite Public Input

A new community event may soon become a local tradition in Frankfort, as residents and businesses prepare for what organizers believe could be the first citywide garage sale of its kind.

The garage sale is scheduled for June 6 at 9 a.m., with organizers encouraging participation from homeowners, local businesses, and community groups. The goal is to create a coordinated, map-based event that draws visitors throughout the area while giving participants a chance to connect with the community and boost local activity.

All are welcome to take part, whether by hosting a sale or simply exploring what others have to offer. Organizers say they hope the event will gain momentum and continue as a recurring tradition in future years.

To help shape the event, a public planning meeting is set for May 16 at 11 a.m. at Connecting Point Church located at 400 S 3rd Street in Frankfort. Attendees can share ideas, ask questions, and sign up to be included on the official garage sale map.

Community input will play a key role in the event’s success and ensure broad participation across the city.

If successful, the June 6 sale could mark the beginning of a new annual tradition aimed at bringing neighbors together while supporting local engagement.
