Frankfort Prepares for First Citywide Garage Sale and Vendor Fair

A new community event could soon become a local tradition in Frankfort, as residents, businesses, and organizations prepare for what may be the city’s first coordinated, citywide garage sale—now expanded to include a community vendor fair.

The event is scheduled for June 6 beginning at 9 a.m., with organizers encouraging homeowners, local businesses, and community groups to participate. The goal is to create a map-based sale across the city that attracts visitors, increases local activity, and gives neighbors a chance to connect.

In addition to garage sales, a community vendor fair will also be part of the day’s activities. Vendor spaces are free, but participants must register by May 30. Those interested can sign up by contacting Rodney at 765-242-6410 or Christine at 765-242-6785.

Organizers hope the combined garage sale and vendor fair will draw a wide range of participants and shoppers, helping establish the event as an annual tradition.

A public planning meeting is scheduled for May 16 at 11 a.m. at Connecting Point Church, 400 S. 3rd Street in Frankfort. Community members are encouraged to attend, share ideas, ask questions, and sign up to be included on the official event map.

Organizers say community input will be key to the event’s success and are optimistic that strong participation could turn the June 6 event into a lasting tradition that brings people together while supporting local engagement.
